Following up on a fantastic month for Toro CSC athletes Tim Savage and Helen Philips took part in the 2011 Great North Run.
Both had an excellent race, showing what can be achieved with smart training, hard work and a positive mental attitude. Helen finished in 1:52:48 to secure a new PB by 9 minutes, and only a week after completing Ironman Wales in a little over 12 hours (recently confirmed as toughest Ironman Race on the World Series) Tim crossed the finish line in 1:27:00!
With over 37,000 competitors the finish times put Helen in the top 21% and Tim in the top 1% of finishers.
