The Toro CSC Junior Development Programme
The Toro CSC Junior Development Programme was established in 2010 to provide young people aged 13 - 17 with the opportunity to access and develop in the sport of triathlon.
Junior athletes on the development programme are full members of the Toro CSC Race Team and included and involved in all aspects of Team development. Junior athletes also receive the benefit of free coaching, development and guidance in the sport of triathlon from a team of coaches and sport specialists, access to free or discounted kit and equipment and free racing and training opportunities, removing financial barriers to the participation in sport and development of potential athletes.
Due to the fully supported nature of the Toro CSC Junior Development Programme places are restricted and only offered following interview and assessment with the Junior Athlete and their parents, pending a probationary period, access to the programme and continued participation is also dependent on a good record of academic attendance and behaviour.
There is no elitism or restriction to access based ability, performance, potential, race, religion, gender, social or economic status, all vacancies are offered on an individual basis and based on our assessment of whether we believe that we can work with the athlete and their parents to help them achieve their sporting goals.
Toro CSC commit a significant profit share of event management fees to the Junior Development Programme and work on a commercial level with Local and National companies and organisations to assist in the funding the development of junior athletes.
