The Athena Triathlon @ David Lloyd Hull sits in the middle of the triathlon season; athletes have already been racing hard and for several months and will need to summon both strength and speed to push themselves through this incredibly fast race.
The Athena Triathlon @ David Lloyd Hull will once again be the middle race in the 2012 EY Events Gold Rush Triathlon Series, a series of three pool based sprint distance triathlon events, Apollo, Athena and Artemis, with the series winners taking some quite unique prizes.
A 16 length swim in the 25 metre pool gets the race under way followed by one of the fastest bike routes in the area, used in local time trial racing the single lap out and back route is ideal for the athlete who likes a dragster race of a bike course, where they can get their heads down and push hard without worrying about hills, twists and turns. The run is equally as fast with a single lap along the banks of the River Hull. The finish is located on the exclusive David Lloyd Hull patio overlooking the tennis courts.
To add to the experience the team at David Lloyd Hull open their facilities to the athletes and their families for the entire day. A post race Jacuzzi, and race day meal in the club room are an ideal way to finish the day.

Prizes and awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female athletes, 1st Male and Female Age Group Winners, and the Lanterne Rouge.

While the race will be challenging it’s also designed to be accessible to novices stepping up to middle distance racing for the first time, and we will provide advice, guidance and support where it’s needed.
