Artemis. Goddess of the Hunt and twin sister to Apollo, Artemis is both pure and swift, and as her brother Apollo is the God of Sun she is the Goddess of the Moon.
The Artemis Triathlon @South Hunsley Sports heralds the end of the triathlon season. The Sun sets and the Moon rises, after a hard season of racing triathletes come back to the South Hunsley course for one last blast before heading off into a winter of rest, training and preparation for the following year. Some even race both Apollo and Artemis, comparing their performances at the start and close of the year.
The Artemis Triathlon @ South Hunsley will once again be the grande finale in the 2012 EY Events Gold Rush Triathlon Series, a series of three pool based sprint distance triathlon events, Apollo, Athena and Artemis, with the series winners taking some quite unique prizes.
A 12 length swim in the South Hunsley pool gets the race under way followed by a loop around the undulating and scenic bike course. There are one or two climbs along the route and some sweeping, long descents through rural East Yorkshire, if you have the time to look around you’ll get witness some fantastic views of the Humber Estuary before dropping back in to South Hunsley Sports. The run couldn’t be faster with a flat and fast two lap course which brings you to an often noisy and very well supported finish line.
Whether you’re new to triathlon and want a friendly, supportive atmosphere, or an experienced triathlete looking for a fast race and some tough competition, you’re welcome at The Artemis Triathlon @ South Hunsley. Our skilled and experienced event crew will do all they can to make sure you have a good experience and enjoy your race.
Prizes and awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female athletes, 1st Male and Female Age Group Winners, and the Lanterne Rouge.

While the race will be challenging it’s also designed to be accessible to novices stepping up to middle distance racing for the first time, and we will provide advice, guidance and support where it’s needed.
